Hi! My name is Leo Gao, and I'm a '28 at Dartmouth. I'm from Levittown, New York, out on Long Island, and I'm a double major in Biology and Asian Studies. 

On campus, I'm the Community Service Chair for MAPS, a peer mentor in the First-Generation Office. I also work as a Patient Care Assistant at Dartmouth Hitchcock's Heater Road Primary Care clinic, which has probably taught me more about medicine than anything else I've done here. On the research side, I work in Mary Jo Turk's lab at the Dartmouth Cancer Center studying CD8+ tissue-resident memory T cells in a melanoma model, and I work with Dr. Mackwood on primary care access and health equity. Outside of class, I'll play any racket sport if someone will pick up a paddle (tennis, pickleball, badminton, ping pong); I climb, and I watch a lot of movies. Always happy to talk about classes, finding a lab, or landing a clinical job on campus. Looking forward to meeting everyone!
