Mid-August: The application becomes available.

Early-October: Applicants submit their application and letters of recommendation.

Mid-December: Geisel sends out invitations to interview.

January: Geisel conducts interviews.

Mid-Late February: Geisel announced decisions to candidates. Accepted candidates have two weeks to respond to the Geisel Admissions Office with their decision.

Your application file will not be considered complete unless the following materials are received by the Geisel Admissions Office.
• A completed application with both certification boxes checked.
• A non-refundable application fee of US $130 in a check (or money order) payable to the Geisel School of Medicine. If you would like to request a fee waiver, please contact Aileen.K.Panitz@dartmouth.edu.
• Two to five letters of recommendation. At least two should be authored by science faculty, including one from a faculty member who taught you in a required pre-medical course. 
• Official transcript(s) from every post-secondary institution you have taken classes at. 
• Include a report of the standardized testing scores (SAT I or ACT, with writing, and SAT II) that accompanied your college applications, if you have them. 
• Supplemental materials and/or updates may be submitted by sending them to Geisel.Admissions@dartmouth.edu. Geisel will accept email updates throughout the application process.

Students are not required to take the MCAT or to have completed all medical prerequisite courses (at the time of submission), but they must have completed a sufficient number of science courses upon which to base a comprehensive performance evaluation.

However, students who apply to EAP must intend to complete all medical school prerequisite courses by graduation (reminder: but not at the time they submit their EAP application). Candidates are encouraged to complete their science courses at Dartmouth. EAP is not designed for students who anticipate taking post-baccalaureate studies.

If you apply, but are NOT accepted into the Early Assurance Program, Geisel still welcomes you to apply during a regular, medical school application cycle.

Students are allowed to request deferment of enrollment for one year in order to pursue a "gap year" activity that will enhance their experience and relate to their future medical studies. 
 

Accepting the invitation to join the Early Assurance Program is binding. If you ultimately decide you wish to apply to other medical schools, you need to withdraw from the Early Assurance Program.
