Veterinary Medicine
Have you always had an innate love for animals? Have you ever considered the difference you could make by saving and caring for a sick animal? Not only for the animal but for their owner/s too?
The Health Professions Program Pre-Health Advisors work with Pre-Vet students in all the same ways they work with students interested in the MD path. Dartmouth also has its own Pre-Veterinary Society, more active in some years than others.
What is the role of Veterinarians?
Veterinarians typically do the following:
- Examine animals to diagnose their health problems
- Perform surgery on animals
- Test for and vaccinate against diseases
- Advise animal owners about general care, medical conditions, and treatments
- Euthanize animals
