Hi! My name is Sophie Menyhart, and I am a '27 double majoring in Biological and Psychological Sciences from Barnstable, MA. 

Outside the pre-health peer mentor program, where I serve as co-director, I am primarily involved with the varsity sailing team, where I serve as Vice Commodore. I am also a member of Kappa Delta, where I serve as Assistant ISC Delegate. During my pre-health journey, I have served as a patient advocate volunteer at both DHMC and the local hospital in my hometown. I also worked in clinical oncology research this past year, where I assisted with a lung cancer screening study (fun fact: the blood test we were working to validate was recently FDA-approved!). I have also continued to coach sailing whenever possible, since being on the ocean is a crucial part of my summers spent at home. As I look forward to my future in medicine, I am very passionate about prioritizing a service-centered mindset and using the psychology background I've developed during my undergraduate academic experience to fuel my future goal of patient-centered care. When I am not busy sailing, in class, or doing schoolwork, I try to fill my days with spending quality time with friends. I am also an avid skier and a big fan of spontaneous adventures in the Upper Valley area (and beyond!). Looking forward to meeting you all!
