Shoaib Jamil ‘25
Biography
Hello, y'all! My name is Shoaib Jamil, and I am a '25 originally from Oklahoma. Over at Dartmouth, I am a double major in Chemistry and Quantitative Social Science. On campus, I am a Pathways to Medicine Scholar as well as an undergraduate researcher over at the Kasper Lab in the Department of Molecular Biology at the Geisel School of Medicine. I also am an avid tutor for Chemistry classes through the Peer Tutoring Program. I have volunteered at the Maynard House for two years and have gained more volunteering experience through acting as a Vice President of Dartmouth's Minority Association of Pre-Health Students (MAPS). I have also helped out at Red Cross Blood Drives here at Dartmouth by acting as one of Dartmouth's Blood Drive Coordinators. During one of my breaks, I acted as a Medical Assistant for Dr. Mudassir Nawaz at his family medicine clinic in Oklahoma. I was given the opportunity to help round patients, take their vitals, and conduct drug/mental health screenings. In another one of my breaks, I acted as an Ophthalmic Assistant at DHMC, where I learned to perform vision screenings, take retinal photos, assist with minor procedures and injections, and do visual field testing. For fun, I like to do some fun calligraphy, learn the lyrics to any SZA song, and practice my one-handed typing skills.
