Hi!! My name is Rachel, and I am a '27 from Charlotte, North Carolina. I am a Geography Major with a minor in Anthropology of Global Health. 

I spent my off-term this winter in Lima, Peru, doing a funded Global Health Internship through the Dickey Center, where I was working for Socios en Salud (Partners in Health) to expand public health initiatives and TB/HIV interventions. This summer, I also received Center for Career Design Funding to do nonprofit work at a community health center in Boston, where I was able to deepen my exposure to and interest in Addiction Medicine. I also did the Geography Foreign Study Program in Prague during my sophomore year. On campus, I did research through URAD for a couple of terms but learned I wasn't a fan of wet lab research, and now I'm excited to start as a Health Equity Scholar through the Dartmouth Institute. I also have a very chill job opportunity organizing study materials with the ECHO New Hampshire Birth Cohort Study at Geisel and work at Lou's in town! I spent my Freshman summer as a barista in Glacier National Park and am a big proponent of doing something non-academic during that time! I spend my free time on campus (which I have a lot of :)) doing fun things with my friends like going to Collis Trivia, thrifting in West Leb, or befriending town dogs. I am really passionate about Social Medicine, and I've found that engaging with my non-STEM academic interests has been crucial to both engaging with the pre-Health intensity at Dartmouth and figuring out what parts of medicine really excite me! Hence, one of my favorite classes has been The Means of Reproduction: Health, Bodies, Technologies in the History department. Looking forward to meeting y'all.
