Kavin Kathir ‘26
Biography
Hey! I’m Kavin Kathir, and I’m a ‘26 from Cheshire, CT. I’m a Psychology major with a Chemistry minor on the premed track, aspiring to go into orthopedics. I research in the Hixon Lab, a biomedical engineering lab focused on tissue engineering and regenerative medicine. My specific projects have to do with 3D-printed bone mineral scaffolds and cryogels for critical bone defects. I’ve volunteered with many adaptive sports organizations, including Special Olympics and Gaylord Health, as well as local hospitals in Connecticut. During my Spring 2025 off-term, I worked as a Medical Assistant in a rheumatology clinic, where I gained valuable hands-on experience by scribing for clinicians and providing preliminary diagnoses. In my free time, you can find me going to the gym, watching the Patriots game while checking my fantasy team, hanging out with friends, watching Suits or Ted Lasso, or pretty much playing any sport; soccer and volleyball are two of my favorites. Excited to meet you all!
