Hi! My name is Iha, and I'm a '27 from San Jose, California. I'm majoring in Biology and minoring in Women's, Gender, and Sexuality Studies. 

On campus, some of my commitments include our Planned Parenthood Generation Action chapter, serving on the Academic Skills Center Student Advisory Board, being an Admissions Tour Guide, going on a trip to Appalachia (through the Sustainability Office) to learn about environmental health, and more! This past spring, I was also a Pathways to Medicine scholar and highly encourage you to check out the program. One of my major medical interests is reproductive health, and I've been able to explore that on campus through several research opportunities, such as helping to build DoulaConnect, a digital application built to streamline workflow for doulas and reduce postpartum depression incidence in rural communities, and also qualitative research on trauma-informed care practices that radiation oncologists (specializing in gynecology, breast, prostate, etc.) can incorporate for cancer patients. I've also pursued wet lab research previously, working on a non-invasive gene therapy to treat hydrocephalus (current treatment relies on surgically inserting a shunt). Outside of research and academics, I love long-distance running, grabbing meals on Main St. with friends, learning internet dances, and crocheting.
