Hey hey! My name is Elah Wilson, and I'm a '28 from New York City studying Anthropology on the pre-med track. I'm super interested in women's health and am an aspiring OB/GYN, which has shaped a lot of what I do at Dartmouth. 

On campus, I'm the Curriculum Chair for the Sexual Assault Peer Alliance, a Learning Fellow/peer tutor for a few pre-med classes, and a research assistant in the Christensen Lab at DHMC, where I study whether DNA methylation patterns in menstrual effluent could offer a noninvasive way to diagnose endometriosis. Off campus, I volunteer with the Play Pals program, providing supervised childcare for children of mothers in the Moms in Recovery program at DHMC while their mothers attend addiction treatment appointments. I also volunteer with the Patient Support Corps, where I help patients prepare questions for their appointments and accompany them to help them feel more informed and involved in their own care. Being able to escape the Dartmouth bubble and engage with community members has been one of my favorite parts of my Dartmouth experience so far—the Upper Valley is a uniquely special place! During summers and breaks at home, I work as a medical assistant at an OB/GYN office in NYC, which has given me an even deeper appreciation for women's health and made me even more eager to work in the field. Outside of pre-med things, I adore photography (I took film photography at Dartmouth, and it was life-changing), exploring public libraries, crocheting (and trying to learn how to knit), '80s/'90s rock, and the NYT crossword.
